The carefully controlled manufacturing processes used in papermaking and in
FiberClay™ formation ensures that FiberClay™ material is clean,
non-hazardous, and complies with all state, provincial and federal
regulations.
Each FiberClay Council® Member's proprietary paper making process produces a
unique style of FiberClay™ material, similar to the several kinds of octane
ratings available at the gasoline pump. FiberClay™ is a viable replacement
for certain non-sustainable materials such as clay - and FiberClay™ granules
have a 40% higher Btu value and 60% less residual ash than traditional
clay-based absorbents.
Therefore products made with FiberClay™ material can
do 'double duty': For example, if FiberClay™ is used to make a spill
containment medium, it can then be used as an energy fuel--being disposed of
by incineration--something which cannot be done with clay-based materials.
